Position Title: Inside Sales Trainer

Reports to: Inside Sales Director

Reporting to the Inside Sales Director this role is responsible for:

Primarily listening to calls, using call listening software solution, and using this to coach and develop all the Inside sales teams. This role is focused on enforcing and enhancing the sales methodology which includes; forecasting, pre-call preparation, call delivery, social selling, negotiating and closing training.

Key Accountabilities

  • Listening to calls and identifying areas of strength and development
  • Conducting 1-2-1 and group coaching sessions
  • Assess employees' skills, talents, performance and productivity and prepare written evaluations with advice for improvement
  • Research new training materials and supplies that might enhance the sales methodology and provide value to all employees
  • Support on-boarding of new hires and assign them to training sessions
  • Identify future training needs feedback to management team and training
  • Liaise with team members and management to ensure all insights are communicated
  • Reinforce existing sales methodologies
  • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness
  • Suggest specific training programs to help sales staff maintain or improve job skills
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, team exercises, group discussions, videos etc
  • Keep up with developments in area of sales and sales training expertise by attending seminars, reading current journals, books, or magazine articles.
  • Coordinate with the learning and development teams to develop training material and make this available on the learning platform
  • Report on sales training KPIs and monitor individual sales performance levels against agreed upon benchmarks and development expectations
  • Other duties/projects as assigned

Knowledge & Experience


  • Min 2 years' experience in sales coaching
  • A deep understanding of how Inside Sales teams operate
  • Good understanding of Social Selling
  • Excellent team-building and organisation skills
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills
  • Experience in applying consultative sales methodologies
  • Experience and skill at explaining complex concepts in a clear, succinct and relevant way
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Experience building successful relationships across departmental lines, and at all levels of an organisation
